Halloween in Sydney 2018

Looking for something to do this Halloween in Sydney?

I’ve tracked down several exciting events happening this year in Sydney, to celebrate the spookiest month of the year; Halloween.

From adults only fun, kids only trick or treat or adult and kids events, here’s what’s going on around Sydney:

Halloqueen Trivia Night at The Paddington Hotel:

Join the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation for a frightening, fundraising trivia night. Hosted by Joyce Maynge and Portia Turbo, there will be lots of laughs, games, raffles, live and silent auctions, prizes for the best dressed, and of course, trivia! All funds raised on the night will provide practical, emotional and financial support to BGF’s clients living with HIV. Don’t forget to come dressed in your scariest outfit for your chance to win.

Pumpkin Carving for Adults at The Royal Botanical Gardens:

Learn how to carve pumpkins with imaginative designs, from basic to elaborate. All skills welcome and carving templates will be provided (including botanic and Australiana) or create your own design. Various methods and techniques will be reviewed and discussed, all to the backdrop of a haunted soundtrack. Pumpkin carving tools will be provided and while you work on your design, we’ll roast the seeds for you to enjoy and take home. Bring your own pumpkin and leave with a masterpiece to light at your front door.

NOTE: If this event sells out, Paddy’s Markets will also be hosting a pumpkin carving event also.

Halloscream 6 at Luna Park:

Sydney’s biggest Halloween event is back and scarier than ever. Luna Park Sydney transforms into an abandoned amusement park for Halloscream 6: The Rise of the Cursed Carnival. Every year Luna Park hosts a scary Halloween event. And every year, their events become more and more successful. This year, get your tickets early if you missed out last year, as they do sell SUPER quick. This event is for both adults and kids, however I wouldn’t recommend taking any child under the age of 10, as it can get pretty scary. Unless you have a 6 year sold made of steel (like my nephew LOL).

Jurassic Lounge: Halloween at The Australian Museum:

This is a strictly Adults Only event where the Australian Museum transforms into the ultimate ghoulish playground for grown-ups. The event will feature bone-rattling DJ beats, puppeteers, ghost tours, dancers, electronic megafauna, scientists and much more, all catered for adult entertainment. So leave the kids at home; get a sitter and take some time for yourself to have some real ghoulish fun.

Swamp Monsters at Centennial Park:

This event is designed for children aged 4 to 12 years old. Children follow a map through filled with pumpkins, spiders and scares and complete challenges as they trick-or-treat their way through the spooky activity stations in Centennial Park. All kids get a prize at the end of the map trail. Be sure to wear your spookiest outfit and scare your friends and stay on the lookout for some of our creepy swamp creatures.

NOTE: If tickets sell out for this event, The Royal Botanical Gardens will be hosting a similar event.

Lunar Magic Workshop at Waverley Library in Bondi:

Join The Modern Witch and author of the Lunar & Seasonal Diary, Stacey Demarco, in a workshop about everything lunar and magic! The power and influence of the moon has provoked fascination from humans for millennia. Find out how the lunar and seasonal cycles specifically to influence our personal energy, our moods and even our ability to attract what we want and release what we don’t. Light refreshments provided.
