4 Healthy Alternatives to Eating Chocolate for Easter

Instead of over-eating chocolate, why not try one of these four delicious healthy treats.

Of course, Easter really isn’t Easter, without eating some chocolate. But, instead of indulging and over-eating too much chocolate, step outside your comfort zone and try one of these delicious healthy recipes instead.

I’m always looking for interesting new ways to satisfy my sweet tooth, and often I find myself resorting back to the good old chocolate bar, when I just don’t feel anything else cuts in in the sweet treats department.

For Easter this year, I really wanted to explore new ways of both treating myself and my friends and family, giving a gift that was half the guilt and just as tasty as chocolate.

Easter Yogurt Bark
Made with yoghurt, pomegranate and blueberries, this Easter Yoghurt treat is perfect for wrapping in little gift bags and giving out to friends and family. Leaving some for you to eat as well of course. Itโ€™s made with Greek yogurt; instead of sugar-laced white chocolate making it a great protein-based snack also. Carrot Patches
Taste and Tell created these cute little treats of carrots and hommus and how adorable do they look. These will look great on the table at your hosted Easter event. Topped with parsley leaves, you can add as many carrots as you wish, depending on how many guests you have. And if hummus is not your thing, swap for Tzatziki instead. Yummy.

Yogurt Easter Egg Popsicles
I’m yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like frozen yogurt. Okay, so I know it is typically a little cooler for our Easter, seeing as we are in Autumn. Unlike the beautiful spring weather the northern hemisphere will no doubt be receiving. But these treats are too good not to make. And if you are vegan, you can swap traditional yogurt for coconut yogurt or even coconut ice-cream. Get the recipe at Eats Amazing

Sweet Potato Bunnies
Cookie cutters aren’t just for cookies. Get yourself a bunny cookie cutter and get creative with your food. With Style and Grace created these beautiful bunny inspired Easter sweet potato treats. Baked in the oven and served as a presnack before the main course, try serving with a little sour cream and sweet chilli sauce for dipping. Okay, so I know the sour cream part isn’t that healthy, but look – cute little bunnies made with sweet potato.
