I test drove four new products in the skincare range by Formula 10.0.6 for a month, these are the results.
If you have never heard of this fabulous beauty brand, your about to be educated my friends. Formula 10.0.6 are not new to the Aussie market, selling their products at all Priceline stories across Australia at some of the most affordable prices you will ever see in skincare, without stooping on delivery, quality or performance.
With prices like $3.99 for a hydrating mask and $9.99 for a detoxifying face wash, it’s no wonder products by Formula are flying of the shelves.
I was lucky enough to trial several new products in the range, which was the Soak Your Face Intensive Hydration Mask, The Bare Face Beauty Cleansing Oil, Turn Up The Heat Self-Warming Clay Mask and the One Deep Attraction Detoxifying Face Wash over the last month and now I am sharing those results with you – you’re welcome.
Of course, I am no stranger to the products of Formula 10.0.6 as I am an obsessed with their body moisturiser which is called Tip Top Toe. It smells divine, keeps my skin well hydrated and sells fast, making it nearly impossible to always track down. Which is a good thing really, cause you know the product works.
I have also been using their Draw it All Out Skin Detoxing Peel off Mask for the last year, which has given me some incredible results on clearing out blackheads and other nasties from my skin. I love using this mask right before bed. I apply and let it set whilst chilling in bed watching television or reading a book and then peel off, apply a little face oil and then sleep. Mostly on days when my skin is extra blemishy and clogged.
I’ll go through each one for you, because the results were amazing. This brand really do develop smart products in their range which gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t need. Which I think is their logo.
Let’s start with my favourite of all four I tried, the Bare Face Beauty Cleansing Oil (RRP $12.99). I love my facial cleansing oils, and if you had asked me two years ago about why anyone would want to cleanse their face with an oil, I would have absolutely agreed with you, until I tried it one day and was AMAZED with the results of using a cleansing oil over any other type of cleanser. Of course, I do still use a normal cleanser in the shower, but to remove oil, dirt, grease and of course makeup, you seriously can’t go past a good cleansing oil. Especially in winter, when the weather is cold and the idea of splashing cold micellar water on your face isn’t your thing.
Using a cleansing oil is so beneficial to the skin, as it works a little similar to Micellar where it acts as a magnet to draw out any impurities. However, an oil cleanser will also rebalance the natural sebum on the face, correcting any excess oily issues of the face and hydrates the skin also. Meaning, if you don’t need to shower afterwards (or don’t have time to double cleanse), oil is the way to go.
This oil is simply marvellous and was perfect for the afternoon when you aren’t ready to shower and cleanse yet, but want to remove makeup from the day, so you can just chill at home for a few before setting in for your nightly routine. It removed my makeup like nothing else and left my skin feeling super clean and spotless, with a beautiful glow of moisture from the ingredients, which include sweet almond oil and safflower seed oil, all blended nicely with natural vanilla as a scent. You can also use this oil with a little bit of water, however, I felt it did the job just fine without.
The next product I want to talk about is the One Deep Attraction Detoxifying Face Wash (RRP $9.99), this came in second to the cleansing oil. In case you haven’t noticed, I am a little obsessed with cleansers. This is mostly due to my pores being excessively large in many areas of my face, and a lot of dirt and grime get caught up throughout the day (and the night) leaving me with congested skin. So, having a good cleanser in my skincare routine take priority over any other product.
And let me tell you this cleanser delivers on just that. It’s just write the name detoxifying on the packaging, it truly does just that. My skin over the last month of using this product has been less congested, less oily (the bad type of oil) and I have even seen an improvement in skin. Which I think is a result of properly detoxing the skin. Love love love.
This face wash is loaded with so many great ingredients like charcoal and willow park and Jojoba, just wonderful and perfect for any skin type too, as the formula is gentle on skin.
Sheet masks, sheet masks, sheet masks, I just can’t get enough of them. Who agrees with me in saying, sheet masks really were the best invention ever, when it comes to at home skin treatments for the face, which are easy to apply, leaves no mess and easy to discard. Am I right? I’m completely obsessed with sheet masks, which I have no doubt blogged several time before about. And my favourite are always the deep hydration masks.
Although my skin is more oily than not most of the time, that doesn’t mean I don’t have skin hydration issues. So much so, when I use a hydration sheet mask, there is hardly ever any leftover serum from the mask to massage into my face once I have removed the mask. I kid you not.
My skin is super soaky when using masks, which is why I use one nearly every day (nearly, I said nearly). The Soak Your Face Intensive Hydrating Mask (RRP $3.99) by Formula is absolutely wonderful and did just that, it intensively moisturised. My only criticism here, which has nothing to do with the delivery of the product itself is that the face mask was too big for me. But then again, I have a really small head and face, so often most masks don’t fit my face and my hair line (a large part of it) ends up benefiting a lot from the mask LOL. Other than that, I found the mask to be rather rewarding after use and my skin felt super soft and silky afterwards.
Of course there was very little serum remaining on the skin after removing the mask, nothing out of the norm for me, but what had been soaked in felt amazing and I found myself using very little moisturiser afterwards as I my skin felt dewy for hours after.
Alrighty, let’s talk charcoal masks. If you haven’t yet joined the whole charcoal bandwagon of beauty products, now is a good time to start. Charcoal is simply incredible and so beneficial for the skin to balance oil, clear and hydrate and of course remove any germs, bacteria and grime from the skin. And what better way to be introduced to a charcoal mask, then with the Formula 10.0.6 Turn Up The Heat Self-Warming Clay Mask (RRP $9.99). I have absolutely loved using this mask in winter, as it actually does, really and truly warm up on contact with the skin. Super nice on a cold night after cleansing and a long day. I love anything clay mask and find my skin benefits always from using a good one.
Oh and did I mention this mask has ginger in it – OH YES! I love my ginger everything. Ginger coffee, ginger treats, chocolate coated ginger, and now I am totally obsessing over ginger in my beauty products LOL. So this was a winner for me before I even tried the mask. Sorry, just being truthful here. Lucky for me, the product works and delivers on cleaning skin. I found I most benefited from using this mask on the days where I had broken out from a lot of blemishes (that time of the month and all). I used it every night for a week to help clear up the blemishes and it worked, they didn’t last and didn’t hang around for long, which was great.
Now, I know what you are thinking. Gee, she doesn’t have anything bad to say about this brand or the products. So, I am going to be very open and honest here. If I don’t like a product or a brand, I won’t write about it. I believe integrity and honesty is the best policy when it comes to writing about products to an audience, especially if you are going to go out and try them for yourself. I already knew deep down these products were going to be a winner, as I had already been using the peel of mask and moisturiser like I mentioned earlier on this blog.
But, it does feel great to only write about the brand and the products you really like, sharing that information with all of you. That way, by only writing about what i truly like, you can then appreciate and respect there are no lies here. Just honest reviews on some damn good products.
